Job Description:

Under broad oversight and in compliance with Company policies and procedures, responsible for producing machined parts by setting up, and operating a (computer numerically controlled) lathe machine to cut metal and plastic parts.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Downloads control programs into precision lathe machinery. Performs setup operations to guarantee the machine properly creates the part to print specifications.
  2. Loads appropriate tools and makes adjustments manufacturing components to print specifications, as well as make sure the machines are set up properly, and producing quality product.
  3. Verifies correct specification of parts by utilizing measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, depth micrometers, calipers, and other related equipment).
  4. Interfaces with inspection assuring quality and accuracy of first piece.
  5. Performs in-process inspections. Inspects finished products to ensure it is manufactured to print specifications and ready for the next step in the production process if applicable.
  6. Acts as a steward of the Phillips Precision brand, adhering to companies 5-S and lean culture. Consistently representing and reflecting the Company’s core values, approach, and high standards of excellence in all internal and external interactions.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

High School degree preferred; or equivalent related work experience.

Experience and Expertise:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on manufacturing process experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with conventional and CNC equipment required.
  • Experience in identifying tooling, along with the appropriate operating conditions (speeds and feeds).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; along with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated time management, analytical, detail-oriented, deductive reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
