Phillips Precision Medicraft is a second-generation manufacturer of orthopedic implants, instrumentation, and delivery systems. The company was founded 53 years ago to bridge the gap between engineering ideas and manufacturing. PPM’s talent and expertise are rooted in a passion for bringing complex geometry to life. As fate would have it, two teams of experts in their respective fields had a chance meeting that would dramatically impact them both.

Three years ago, John Phillips, President of PPMs Implant Division, and Patrick Treacy, CEO and founder of Onkos Surgical reconnected. Onkos was a startup with a mission to specifically focus on patients suffering from Osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. These patients are young and they routinely face amputation or a limb salvage procedure that includes numerous clinical challenges. By designing products to be manufactured by Phillips, Onkos would be able to deliver novel, life changing limb salvage innovations that address these clinical challenges. From the beginning, John and Patrick felt the synergy between both companies. They came to realize that by combining their talent, dedication, and passion, anything is possible. Ultimately, Phillips Precision took on the challenge.

Supporting the precision orthopaedic oncology initiatives of Onkos has been incredibly rewarding and showcases the value of a true partnership. Knowing that the innovation and problem-solving abilities of PPM/Onkos Surgical are making a life-changing difference for patients is what drives our commitment to the endeavor.

‘Save a limb, save a life.’
