This past year Phillips implemented the most significant expansion of automation technology in its history. Our strategy to add high-volume 5-axis robotic cells has dramatically impacted our implant manufacturing capabilities.
PPM has added a series of Kitamura Med Centers that pack a powerful punch within a small footprint. The systems’ capabilities and our in-house ability to create custom fixtures have exceeded our expectations, plus increased our ability to manufacture smaller, more intricate implants with increased speed and quality. We’ve also continued to apply our novel strategy that integrates EROWA 80 pallet changer technology to PPM’s existing HAAS 5-Axis systems. Together, we’ve seen a dramatic improvement to our overall manufacturing capacity, through-put and out-put, including lights-out manufacturing capabilities all within the same manufacturing footprint.
While our manufacturing floor is honed for high-volume manufacturing, our quality control systems and technology have also been expanded and upgraded. As a result, Phillips continues to improve its high-volume implant manufacturing capabilities with the quality and LEAN 5S efficiencies we are known for.
