Welder

Job Description:
Under specific oversight and in compliance with Company policies and procedures, fabricates and assembles metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers and measuring tools.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Reads and interprets blueprints and technical drawings to plan layout and fabrication procedures.
  2. Selects appropriate welding equipment or methods based on job requirements and specifications.
  3. Sets up components and materials for welding in accordance with project specifications.
  4. Operates hand tools to prepare parts for welding.
  5. Aligns and secures components using calipers, rulers, clamps, and other measuring tools.
  6. Performs welding operations using manual or semi-automatic equipment in various positions (e.g., vertical, horizontal, overhead).
  7. Repairs machinery, tools, and structural components by welding and filling gaps as needed.
  8. Inspects and tests welded surfaces and structures to identify and correct defects or inconsistencies.
  9. Represents the Phillips Precision brand with professionalism, consistently demonstrating the company’s core values, high standards, and commitment to excellence in all internal and external interactions.
  10. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

High School degree; or equivalent related business experience.

 

Experience and Expertise:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a welder, utilizing a variety of welding equipment and procedures.
  • Proven capability in reading and interpreting technical documents and drawings.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with proven capability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with various manufacturing software programs.
